My black birchen cochin pullet decided, early on, that she didn't respect my tiny OEGB cockerel and so she began to crow in competition with him.
Her crow sounded like, "Ul-ulllllll-uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuul!"
She's now a wonderful broody hen. I had another rooster that was supposed to be a hen grow up and terrorize the hens, so I think my hen got the message that the OEGB cockerel was a kindly gentleman who was worthy of respect.
She hasn't crowed again, even though all the aggressive roos are gone.
