So I have a buff orpington pure and an araucana buff mix that are very hostile towards each other. The buff pure is more than likely a rooster with his tail and his waddle development being so high. My ara. mix has the tails and has a bit of a waddle but I have heard that is to come with the breed so its not a for sure tell yet. They both will coexist in the yard but I find myself breaking up them fighting in the yard at some point. They don't go to the extremes yet but it isnt getting better so picking order doesnt seem like the case here. the last photos of the white mix are when he was a little younger but I put them because the #2 picture of his tail doesn't do it justice to what he really walks around with

This is exactly pecking order. You have two young males that are just hitting "puberty" and trying to figure out who is boss of who. Interfering with their sparring is only going to drag things out. At this young age it would be unusual for them to actually injure each other. Just be sure there is plenty of room for the loser to run away and the winner will be happy.

Excellent advice. They free roam the yard so usually they are not close unless everyone found a family of bugs. I am attempting to find one a home amd eventually the other since I'm in the city and roosters cause problems. I was more worried about one killing the other but Since you said they should be Fine at this age I will not worry as Much til I find a new home

It always takes two to tango. And it always takes two to rumble especially if the looser is unable to separate himself from the victor. In that case the victor thinks that the rumble is still on and he will renew the squabble and press the attack home to gain the victory that he believes that he's earned.
