I'm sorry, I know exactly how you feel, we had to get rid of our hen that turned out to be a rooster because of some jerk. We kept him inside at night until late morning. God knows there are soooo many other spine chilling noises we have to listen to all day long besides a little old rooster. I am just curious, how did the town even find out that you had chickens if your neighbors didn't know? We didn't get a visit from the cops for 6 months and only because someone called. Actually we are only allowed 5 and we have 6 and 10 more coming in late October. We have enough room for them, I don't see why it is illegal. I could understand if they were stuffed into a tiny cage and mistreated. You should get a mob of people in town to contest. That's what I want to do so we can have roosters. If people don't want to hear animals, they should move to San Franscico.
