We have had in the low teens here and My two have not had a problem. That may be due to me giving them a late snack of whole corn around 4pm or so...
My birds are outside 24/7. We'd have low 20s, and even in the teens one night with snow on the ground. Didn't phase my OEGBs a bit, even the Shamo i have (which oriental gamefowl have cold hardy problems due to the tight feathers, and also some don't have many feathers) was fine. I'm getting to think as long as it's not near 0 or is below chickens can pretty much withstand it, but that isn't to say i don't take precautions to help keep them warmer too.
-Daniel.
PS. My OEGB hen is mean too, will try and fight the American game hens that free range and are twice (maybe three) times her size! I kind of like that though, i like birds with a little "spunk".
