Fighting Roosters, Help!!

They can BLIND each other,trust me I tried that method,and I got my young cockeral beat on,it just irritates the bigger guy.And they can break each others necks.

This is really a tough problem. I had two roos, raised together, fight every time they had access to each other. They never "settled it".

The way I solved the problem was to switch off letting one stay in the run with the flock while the other patrolled the perimeter outside. At night, they slept in a coop partitioned down the middle. I even had to hang a blanket over the partition because they would fight through it and even once demolished it in their fevered fighting.

A friend of mine who runs a rooster rescue once had a new rooster who set out to fight another one and nothing could discourage him. So he placed him with his sparring partner in a small crate, just large enough for them to barely turn around. After several days in close confinement with each other, they became inseparable friends.

I haven't tried this, so I have no idea if it would work on all quarreling roosters. If all else fails, it might be something to consider, but I would keep a very close eye on them at first to make sure one isn't going to kill and eat the other.

x2 on azygous's idea of switching the roosters, you can let one out from dawn to noon and other from noon to dusk. This way both will get their share of fresh air and not get into fights too.

I suggest you do something to separate the two at night. However, on the lines of mak1's suggestion I would advice you to let the two roosters fight during the day like sparring as they will ultimately end it with one coming on top but you will have to moderate the fight to ensure their safety. It sounds cruel but I have seen roosters fight for some time and then they just settle among themselves. There are exceptions though as there could be a pair of roosters who just fight non-stop and in such a case you will have to make arrangements to separate them.

Also If one cowers in a corner or something and the other removes neck skin and gets a taste for blood you can have a whole other problem.
At this point you're prolly just gonna have to separate
Males are extremely territorial and you may just have to accept you can't change that
