Figured I'd try and ask here

Yes it is actually kitten season and most places are truly probably full. Even though you are one of the kind folks who adopts an older pet, consider these babies. People are having a very hard time finding homes for the massive influx of kittens right now. Otherwise, maybe the vets will help you work on a lower cost to get these babies fixed up, and you can ask around to friends and family and coworkers or put ads in paper for them to find a home. Ask a small rehoming fee in paper or online to deter irresponsible homes.
I'm considering them. We are pretty tight on money as my old man kitty had to get all of his teeth removed. Wasn't cheap.

They may be older than you think. We assumed ours was only 4 -6 weeks old, but the vet said he was already 4 months. He was small because he was undernourished.

Another thought, contact a low cost spay and neuter clinic or shelter about trap neuter release (TNR program) which should be no cost to you, because the kittens came from somewhere which means their are adults around having babies. Getting the adults fixed helps prevent it from continuing the cycle.
I think they're too young to be fixed. I do plan on getting them fixed if I still have them by then. I'm almost positive someone dumped them. We get so many people dumping their pets on us.

I hate it also. I've trapped many and got them fixed but they were adults and were able to be released safely. These little ones are too young to be fixed and too young to fend for themselves outside

Even if they are to young for spay/neuter the clinic may have resources for worming and vaccines. It's worth giving them a call and asking.

Our vet advised 6 months for spay and neuter. I was referring to trapping adults in the area for the TNR program. And yes kittens take work- shots and booster shots, and spay/neuter, but some vet clinics do offer low cost or payments.

A good pet supply should have everything you need if you can't find a clinic. It is most likely the kittens have roundworms. As well as wormers, the pet supply should also have the necessary vaccines for kittens available.
