Finally a Homesteader!

Hello Everyone!
I'm super happy to have found this forum. My Family and I just purchased our 7acre homestead in West Virginia and we have so much to do! We have baby chicks coming in early March. So we have some scrambling to do to get ready, but still very excited to be able to put sustainable food on our table. (Just eggs for now, well, not right away but before the summer is over),

Anyway looking forward to getting to know you and gain some knowledge!
Welcome, and congratulations on your new homestead.

Congrats! Whatre your plans for your homestead? My main piece of advice would be to start different species of animals one year at a time. I know the instinct is to collect them all and have a big animal menagerie right away, but that creates problems. Each animal has specific needs for each season. Growing slowly with a steady base lays a solid foundation :)

Whatre you guys doing after chickens?!
