Finally Became a Chicken Owner!

YES! I am inspired to build a chicken parade float now! Our town only has a population of about 600 and our parades last about 5 minutes tops with our one firetruck, one ambulance, one high school float, and one police car. I think chickens will be the perfect addition. Enjoy your chickens, and have a celebratory stink free meal when they can finally move out. Our home doesn't have a garage (yet), so our chicks lived in the bath tub for toooooo loooooong. Many chicken owners have been there. It's a great day when they move out, of course you won't sleep the first night because you will be worried about them. Haha. Enjoy.
I had fun building the mobile coop. Our parade is in a community of 600 homes. The parade is a little bigger than yours because many homeowners build floats etc., but it was just fun being in it with the chickens. Enjoy!

The big coop/coop run (7'X7' house coop with an 10'X20' attached coop run built solid like a house with a foundation and roof) will be extra predator proof, but I think you are right in that I will no matter what be concerned he first night :)

P.S. Wish you could keep your Golden Polish roo! I love that golden polish on your pictures. Golden polish are super awesome. I got a golden polish/silkie mix roo. I'm not supposed to have a rooster but I'm trying to hang on to this super pretty one by keeping him indoors outside of 11am-7pm. I made him a diaper! Check out my profile pic. That's my silkie rooster in a diaper. He passed away so I got the polish/silkie one now.

I'll take a picture of him later and show you how pretty they can be. I have 3 eggs from him with my prettiest silkie hen. I'm excited to see what the chicks look like!

I wish I could keep them as well. I love their personalities and how they look. I may try and keep 1 and try using a rooster crow collar on him and see if that can keep him from making too much noise. My wife would never allow me to keep a chicken in the house (even with a diaper) - lol so if I do keep 1 of them it will have to be in the coop. I at least do have a Golden Polish Hen if I am not able to keep one of the roosters.
