Yeah I used a kiddie pool and made their dust bath way bigger than the old one. This morning they were not very sure about it lol.

Mine is sitting on top of the ground , they weren't to sure about it until the vegetables started sprouting, needless to say didn't have any fresh vegetable for the house that year they ate all the plants lol, never plant garlic where they can get it either they won't share with ya

I threw a few black oil sunflower seeds in this morning to see if I could entice them in. The brave ones perched on the edge and craned out their necks to get as much as possible without going in. A couple times they fell and got out as fast as chickenly possible. We shall see when I get home from work if there are any footprints in the sand or not

as long as there is dirt they will make their own, the did like the time I planted the garden in the kiddie pool with just gardening soil,for ease after an injury to back, they ate all the vegetables as they came up and turned it into their own personal dust bath lol

Lol, that was basically my first go round with chickens a LONG time ago. I came home and my ENTIRE garden was destroyed... I had no idea what had happened until they ran over and started scratching the stumps left in the ground.
