Hey all,

So after many weeks of building, it's finally habitable.

The coop is around 12x10 for my ten hens! I live in south Louisiana so things get hot! Went with a more open design. I plan on building a panels that folds up on the left side of the coop where the laying boxes will go (they arnt in yet because the chicks shouldn't be laying for another 2 months or so).

Going to landscape around it and make it look pretty.

Any suggestions or questions please let me know? This is my first time with backyard chickens and building a coop.

P.S. - I added a temp wall on the left side with a heater as the nights here are getting to around 40 degrees.

Excellent open air coop for a hot climate!!
You don't need any supplemental heat in the coop once the birds are fully feathered and if they are laying in 2 months, they are fully feathered.
I've had 2 week old chicks zipping around in low 20 degree weather with their broody plate for warm ups without a problem.
You may want to use a wider board for your ramp. They can't really use the ladder part and the cleats are there to keep them from sliding while walking up the ramp.

So maybe something more like this?
