finally evicted out to the coop (pic)

The two black/brownish ones are Black-Sex Links without a doubt! The amount of brown varies with the bird. I have four 3 week old Black Sex-Links. One has a ton of brown on her.

I thought the others might be Golden Comets (or red sex-links). They look my my ladies....I think the amount of white depends on the individual.

In the breed section there is a ton of info. I believe the Golden Comets lay eggs throughout the winter (black ones may too). They aren't overly large sized chickens. They lay large, brown eggs. A lot.

Black Sex Links, no doubt, and I'm fairly certain the others are Red Sex Links. They're great hybrid layers and mature fast. If you want eggs, you done good.

For what it's worth, I'm very cautious about letting pullets free range. I feel much more comfortable keeping them in a coop with a covered run.

The black/brown ones are BSL like previous posters have mentioned. And the other two are RSL (Red sex link) otherwise known as golden comets.

Thank you guys. Nice to know what they are in case someone asks. I am very much looking forward to fresh eggs. Would I be better off letting them free range if I got a roo to go with them?
