It is my first flock of chickens and they were unexpected so it has been a steep learning curve for me. I was not satisfied with any of the prefab coops, I do not have any wood working skills and dealt with a difficult chicken/coop seller, so it was a stressful process. I found a custom made used chicken coop I was satisfied with but even that was an ordeal. We had to take the whole thing apart and it took two days! The seller was very kind, they lent tools, their trailer and helping hands. I have photos of the coop from the original owner and pictures of my friends helping me take it apart. I couldn’t have done it without them. I got the coop, run, a large feeder, waterer, bedding, feed and other supplies for $400 and feeding the guys for all their labor was about $300.
Im currently taking a break from sanitizing it to post this lol. I plan to paint it and rebuild the run to be smaller since I have a smaller flock than the owner. The original owner and my friends are excited to see the completed coop!
