Finally got an egg!

My hens are from sometime in early August and I just received my first egg on Saturday, another on Sunday, and TWO on Monday! (Not sure who the culprits are, but I've been starting to see some of those red-combed types acting suspicious near the nest boxes.) Good luck and you can now tell your facebook friends that your pets can at least make you breakfast.... in typical BYC fashion.

Congratulations!! I also got my first eggs this weekend. I got 1 on Friday, 3 on Saturday, 3 yesterday and 5 today. I only have 5 hens so they are all laying now!!!

My roo has also become a little aggressive when I go in the pen to collect eggs. Not sure what's up with him because he was never like that before.

well, im not exactly sure which bird it was. one hen was born in march and the others are a little older. i know that may sound a little old, but i have silkies and polishes. not sure, maybe those breeds lay later.

my 2 year old was so happy that he got to eat the two eggs for breakfast since he was the one who gathered them

they are little eggs so he ate them both.

" The roo (Ricky) has gotten really aggressive. Actually bit me today when I went into the run to get today's egg. They are all usually very gentle. But now all seem to be agitated."

i noticed that with my roo. he has pecked me the last couple of days. he has never done that before.


"We put a little counter in the coop so we can click it when we get the eggs. "

i love it. im buying a counter tomorrow.
