My whole house smelled and it lingered. I couldn't even imagine having to clean up one that explodes. I think I'd wheel bator and all to the curb. I just hope my other eggs aren't contaminated. That sucker is packed and stacked.

! I have a very staggered hatch, going out of town for a few days, maybe I should leave the bator with a chickeny kid, DH may not remember to check these...now Im worried.

Oh gosh! I hope that never happens here. Maybe I should keep a garbage can handy to the incubator, just in case it does happen. I'd never make it to the bathroom and then I'd have two gross smelly messes. Makes me gag just thinking about it! Have to go.....

I think I was pretty lucky. I got all the other eggs out. I had the whole thing stacked too.

Took that turner through the house and out the door to the garbage can, but if I hadn't made it??

I'd be scrubbing carpets right now.

I think if it ever happened again I might toss a plastic trash bag around it first.

I had a soaked bunch of paper towels and it had oooooozed

and I had to wipe the stuff that was caked on and stuck holding the egg. Then the top can off. Over half the egg and a big glob, just slipped out. Hairballs have the same effect on me, so I don't own a cat. Not that I would anyway.

OMG I can smell it again. My mind is going to mess with me forever. That's not a smell you soon forget.

I don't think anything can prepare you for the stench of rotten egg

I have only ever had one rotten egg. But i had heard of them exploding so i used a sandwich glove as a bag and picked it up and turned the bag over so it was concealed. Just as i had gathered up the edges it hit the side of the unit and popped.

I'm so glad it was already in a bag. Didn't have a clean up but he smell still lingered.
