Finally, got some chickens again..

We had sunshine for about 5 minutes earlier today... Our landlord is a total sweetheart! He gave us a huge tree they chopped down in our backyard last year. Late this morning we heard someone with a chain saw. Looked through the window and there he was, busy cutting the trunk into logs for us! He did offer us the use of the chain saw, but we didn't need it yet. We've been dragging smaller branches down and cutting those up for firewood. He knows this house is absolutely freezing and I'm battling to get the radiators to work, so we've got the fire going every evening. The free wood is very welcome.
I don't suppose you know anyone with Silver Leghorns? I'm looking for a rooster, but I could only find one breeder all the way up in the North. Otherwise nothing for sale online. Well, not silver ones anyway.

Dont know anyone with silver leghorns , only brown and white! Just locked my chickens & ducks up , the lil un's are in the shed , with the ducks , Celia (outcast brown leghorn) without their mother , so the previous stable , is now a converted outcast shed lol , how are all your's?

Matilda: I found Black, White, Red Mottled, Lavender, Brown, Exchequer and Chocolate Leghorns for sale (and in some cases for free). No Silver. Where are they all? I'm starting to think I was lucky picking this girl up at market Friday

I had no idea they were this rare. I want a roo!

Ive never seen a silver leghorn rooster (in real life) only photo's , so they are pretty rare i'd say , hopefully you do get one though...i'll keep an eye and ear out for you.

I'll try and get a nice pic of my hen tomorrow, if she'll stand still! She's very jumpy still. I didn't know there are so many varieties of Leghorns. And so pretty! I like this breed

I was lucky to find her and I had no idea when I did. I couldn't decide which chickens to buy and DH was looking at the brown Leghorns, he liked them. I wanted young chickens, but they all sold and so did the little white leghorn I saw last time, so I couldn't decide! I was hopping from crate to crate and eventually I looked at this girl and she looked miserable... I felt so sorry for her and I thought what the heck, I'm going to buy her. I asked the guy about her and he was very evasive, said something about her being new... He seemed happy to offload her. I'm going to ask him next market day where she came from.
