Finally I am getting the coop built!! Still in progress.

Ok lets see what I got here.

Just before the move.

I put a few of them inside and let the rest explore outside, the food and water is inside, so I wanted them to pass it on.

A few exploring. Plus a great timed shot of a RIR.

Put a few more in to see how they liked it.

I still need to get some shots of the run. I will keep the pics coming as the progress continues. But I have taken that big sigh of relief now that theyre out....

That is a nice looking coop! As was said before, the idea of putting on the interior wall is genius! I'm just now building my own coop, and plan to use that as an approach. Congrats to you and your new addition!

Thanks. Good luck with your build. Be sure to share.

Same here. I'm starting mine now also and I will use your same approach. You do mighty fine work. It looks very well thought out. I especially like the flashing at roofs edges. My problem is just as I start something, the coop, on the fly I already changed the floor. I added a foot to the width of the coop. So that's going to change a lot of my other "well thought out" plans. How do you not do that? I've spent 3 days drawing and planning, now first thing I change it. But I really like what you've done. Fine fine work.

Thank you. I did the same thing, drew it up 3 different ways. Thought I had settled on the 3rd plan. But of course as I started building, I started changing. It always looks and goes together different in real life than on paper. I plan on finishing the roof drip edges with more metal to protect the wood better. Plus it only costs about 4 bucks for a 10 ft length. If there was an unlimited (or at least a large) budget, I would have put the whole thing together first, but hey making the chickens happy takes priority over the extrior.

Thanks for all the compliments.

I love the linoleum folded up along the walls. will make cleaning easier Have you thought about putting a drain in so you could rinse out if the need arose?

I have not thought about that. Too bad I didnt slope the floor.... However I could raise one end up about 1/2 inch and put a drain on the low side........ Great idea. Thanks
