Finally got the girls, and 1 boy, moved into the coop on Friday. I have some pics I'll try to post soon. They are ecstatic to be out there. They are getting a hang of the steps into the coop. But still need alittle assistance at night. Last night 11 of them were in the coop, I just had to move 5 of them in. I wish I had thought to snap a couple of pics of the ones that were in there. 9 of them were perched on the top perch, stacked pretty tight. It was a kodak moment missed.
I still have plenty of odds and ends to do on the coop (exterior sheeting, moldings, paint, etc), but I too bad for them and had to get them moved out. I have not fully covered the run yet, but have put up a 4 ft perimeter on top of the fence that angles in at about 45*, kind of like barbed wire. It should do a pretty good job at keeping them in for now, and maybe deter the flying pests from entering. While putting up the high perimeter netting, I did notice a rather large bird flying around, it probably had a 4 foot wing span, but i have no idea what it was. This was before I had the chickens out there, so I am hopeing it just moved on...
