Finally joined BYC

[High Country Hens]

Finally got around to joining BYC. Had chickens on the farm when I was a kid then moved to town & had a backyard flock for a few years. Then we moved again to a rural subdivision with a no livestock covenant & we got it changed to allow chickens! Just got done building a new chicken house and run and I can't wait to get some breakfast makers! Been using BYC for a long time, it's a great resource.

Barred Rocks for sure & Americanas. I'm also thinking about a couple of marons? Haven't done much research yet but I like the "red" egg color. That will be what I get in the spring; for this fall I will probably buy some started pullets. Poultry is cheap right now cuz everyone who bought a cute chick realized they don't want to winter them.
