Hi there-
I've been a frequent visitor to BYC and am now just getting around to joining. We have been raising our girls for almost 1.5 years. Three Buff Orpingtons and three Barred Plymouth Rock. We love these ladies but have so little experience and so many questions! Books will only get you so far - looking forward to learning from this experienced community.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Those are 2 lovely breeds you have there. I live your avatar pic, that's one curious lady!! The learning centre is a great place to start, lots of super articles on keeping usurp girls happy safe and healthy. Here is the link if you have not already checked it out ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Wishing you the very best of luck in the future. Be sure to als any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. :o) X2 on Yorkshire coop; if you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center. There is loads of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Welcome to BYC!!! The Learning Center (linked by Yorkshire Coop above) is a fabulous place to start - as well as making your way around the forums. We all started at the same place you are in now. Books are a great starting point, but the problem is the chickens don't read the books so they will break all the "rules" you read about and throw you for some loops, but the good news is that experience is where the real learning comes from and before you know it you'll be an old hand at this chicken stuff.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. So glad you joined the flock
