I have 4 hens, now 11 months old.
The bottom of the Totem pole finally laid an egg yesterday ! It was only 20 F out but she laid a good 1.7 oz egg IN the Nesting Box. All the others did it under the boxes.
No one else is laying as they are all molting and it is Winter (shorter days, no extra light, and cold).
I love my Kate, but now I HAVE to go out every day to get the ONE egg I may or may not have LOL
Pecan did the egg song in the morning and I knew she is not laying (she was 1st to lay) but she was actually saying that Kate was going to lay one.
Kate came out 2 hours later with a little song too.
