I'm Kimberly, I made an account for my sister Michelle and her little flock. She got into chickens through 4H and before we knew it we had a couple of chicks out in the backyard. We have recently moved out into the country and now we are up to 7 little hens running around. We have two bantams and five standards. Every time we had to research something regarding the chicks, BYC would come up we finally decided to join!! We look forward to hearing your advice and getting to talk to you all!!!! :)

Welcome to BYC, Kimberly and Michele! You will find lots of useful information on this site (a good place to start is the Learning Center). What kind of bantams and standards do you have?

Hi Kimberly and Michelle and welcome to Back Yard Chickens I hope you have lots of fun with your chickens! Also it is funny my name is Michelle and one of my best friend's names is Kimberly!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Yes, this is the place to be when you own poultry!

Make yourself at home and welcome to our flock!

Thank you for all the welcomes everyone!!!!!! The chickens we currently own are a Belgium bearded mille fleur d'Uccle ( feather legged) bantam, a slightly smaller hen we think is a Dutch bantam, an ameraucana, silver laced wyandotte, a Dominique, a buff orpington, and one different little hen we got as a brahma but now I'm not so sure. We spent a lot of time working with them so they are really tame. The two little banties come running when they see us. We currently get one to two eggs a day from the bantams but expect more from the others real soon.

You have a nice mixed flock. I used to have some Mille Fleur d'Uccles years ago and they were very cheerful, friendly little birds as well. I currently have some Buff Orpingtons (along with some other breeds) and they are very friendly and gentle as well. My granddaughter has made pets of them.) Good luck in getting those eggs soon.
