Finally.... THE FIRST EGG!!!

Well.... one of my 4 Barred Rocks laid her first egg. Very exciting!!
Did it right there in one of the next boxes. I was pretty surprised to
see it... i had expected the first few eggs to show up on the run floor
in the dirt.... but there it was, right next to the golf ball. Thanks to everyone
for all the support and help with raising my first flock (if you can call 4 hens
a "flock")

Congrats! I am still waiting for one of my 5 pullets to lay. They were hatched May 31, so I suppose it will be any day now...

Congrats! My first egg was on TOP of the nesting box. But she figured it out the next time. Don't be surprised if you get a few without shells under the roost. That happened to some of my hens after their first egg, but it worked out in time.
