We have 3 girls, and one is fairly blind although she seems to follow movements and will come towards noises that we or the other chickens make. (call her name, shake the treat can, etc.) Her eyes are set a bit weirdly on the sides of her head and bulge out, but I don't know if that is the cause of her problem.

Anyway, as she has gradually gotten more blind, she stopped going up to the roost and sleeps on the poop board which is wider and probably feels more stable. We have a ramp which goes up to one end of the poop board which we thought she used, but the other night we sat in the coop in the evening and watched two of them fly up to the poop board and then hop the few inches up to the roost. When they were settled, our little Princess started walking back and forth and pecking in front of the nest boxes which are under the poop board until she found just the place she wanted (a little lip board that sticks out on the the front of the nest box), hopped up to that, then flew straight up to the poop board and found her comfy place.

Nobody used the ramp. Wish we had a chicken cam! I'm sure it would be highly entertaining.
