Would this be an appropriate recovery coop? I know it’s a rabbit hutch and I would make small modifications if need be. I have a hen that we are going on a week of battling sour/impacted crop (I’ve never dealt with it before) And I hate having her in my garage as she isn’t around the other girls if I had this I could put her near them. Just curious what other people use that is small and can be placed outside.

That looks nice but I doubt it's going to last long outside, especially since it's listed as for "indoor."

What we use is a giant wire dog kennel. We found ours on Facebook Marketplace for half the cost, then when we needed another, we found one at TSC.

This is in our breeding coop as a broody jail, but would work as a hospital too.

I have her in a dog crate now in the garage but I just wanna get her outside cause she’s been away from the others for awhile only seen them once in the last week but also wanna make sure she’s covered.

During the day, I'd leave it open, but at night, just cover with a blanket or move her back into the garage.

I'd check on Marketplace as you might find something else there that's sturdier than the one you found.

We use 2 large laundry baskets, one for the bottom and one for the top. Big towel on the bottom with food and water. She can see out but we actually keep ours indoors while they're recovering in our house. Easier to keep an eye on things.

I use a large wire dog crate in my covered run. You can secure 1/2" hardware cloth all around it with metal zip ties if you want to protect from predators, and can wrap the top and some of the sides with old feed bags / house wrap or 6mil plastic or something to provide a water barrier if you're worried about that. Set it up on some cinderblocks to keep it off the ground if you need to. Can use with or without the plastic tray.

I set my crates on the ground in the run, and they scratch in the dirt. Usually they're for short separations from the flock or broody jail.

I'd carefully check the interior dimensions of that rabbit coop - I don't think you'll have enough room for one large breed hen and her food and water.
