Finally!!!

Went out to check on the chickens early this afternoon...... excessive heat warning here (111 degrees today) and AC being replaced on the neighbor's house right above the chicken run. Guess what I found......... a beautiful pastel green egg. Our three oldest chickens were 24 wks on Tues. and we just knew our BR was going to be the first to lay..... we were wrong as usual!! Here are a few pictures. The one of the nest box has the wooden white egg and the beautiful green egg inside. They got it in the right spot on the first try!!

Congrats!!!! The first egg is always the best! Our 2 EE's lay little green eggs like that every day. One of our Buffs just started laying even smaller light brown eggs. This is so much fun.
