Yeah, that's the one that I am using now. The guy was really nice and there is a friendly farm cat.

do you have to have a business license? or is he open to the public?

He's open to the public. He's real nice and friendly. I went asking alot of questions and he took his time with me. Even though I had already called and asked questions over the phone before I drove over there. There is a big black & white sign by the roadside the mark it. Then you just follow the road back.

I think our local mills ARE the co-ops.

Try looking at yellowpages.com (Under Find A Business) for your local area and search for "feed" or "mill" sometimes "milling", "Feed Mill". It will show anywhere within a reasonable range of your search that has these.

Not sure if these are close.

Just an idea for some of you if you're close together - Our local mill gives us a discount of $2 per bag if we order bulk. We have the room to store it and keep it dry. If a bunch of you are close together and ordered together might get you a discount. More money in your pocket means more you can spend on spoling your chickens

Well I thought I had checked and I did but it is listed under Feed Grinding not mill. Also feed Dealers imagine that, pays to look in more than one phone book.

Thanks for the heads up.

Not much of a choice for me because I live on an island. We have 2 outlets but I'm kind of boycotting the new one. They sell Hartz flea products and I've objected, shown them professional research papers about the dangers. They say they'll look into it but nothing's changed. It's a chain.
The regular feed store is run by local people who are "up" on the latest recommendations for all critters. If they don't know something they'll find out and call back. No medicated feed, has to be specially ordered. All their poultry feed is veg only.

Will someone help me! I don't understand what exactly a feed mill is???...

And is their any near Mount Holly, NC or Charlotte, NC?

How do I buy, just walk in the place? Is it supposed to be open to the public? Is it a store?

Thanks

What is everyones feed formula that you are having the mill make for you? I am in the planning stages for one for us so would like to see what others do.
