Oh my word! You poor people out there on the East coast. Usually that is Michigan. Thanks for sharing the pictures - makes me less likely to grumble when we get our 1 inch today. Good luck!

how are the chickens doing in there? this is terrible i believe you are used to this right? if that happent to me.. all that snow all over my coop. i would go insane

where i live it snowed 2 times the last 10 years, maybe less than half inch snow. i am not used to this. How long will it take to melt

do you go throgh this all winter?

Well, we aren't really used to all of this snow. This has been the worst winter we've had in a LONG time! We usually get a couple bad storms, but we seem to be getting a storm each week this winter. The run is covered with tarps which helped keep most of the snow out of the inside. Some blew in, so I shoveled it to a corner. Most of the run is clear. It is actually it the high 30's today and the chickens have been out in their run most of the morning. The inside of the coop is nice and dry. DH did a great job building them a secure house! I actually think it feels warmer in the run than out in the yard because the snow is up to the top of the sides of the run and forms a sort of igloo blocking any wind.
