fine in the house brooder,not fine outside brooder

I moved 10 coturnix quail 5 days old from a box in the house to an out side brooder and I lost 2 the first day 1 the second day...

....any ideas?

Was there a big temperature change?

they had a light and considering that its been in the upper 90s here I am sure there was,although they had shade and a light outside so not sure how much of change

90's for daytime temperature but what about nights? Was it chilly and damp?

possible, I guess however they have plenty of room to get away and cool off

at 5 days old that drastic of a change sounds like way too much for them to endure. I'm sorry for your losses either way.

I would say that they got too hot, I wouldn't recommend moving quail chicks outside until they are at least mostly feathered. When they are just downy, they have no way to regulate their body temperatures. Sorry you lost your babies.
