the candler perimeter is cleansed, the pen i use to record the data is cleansed, the outside of the bator and bator cover which i touch with my rubber gloved hands is also cleansed just beforehand.
i also wash my hands even before i put on the rubber gloves, then i wash my finger tips with the gloves on and pat dry.
i also cleanse the cake drying rack I place the egg rack on when i candle.
the gloves are stored in a ziplock plastic bag..............
ETA: Oh yes, the digital scale surface and buttons, as well as the little cup i put the eggs in for humidity weighing also get cleansed before any candling weighing procedure.
All the above takes about 7 min. before the candling weighing actually begins...........
