In the Brooder
Finished my hen house just in time. Our 7 wk old hens were stinking up my office and somewhat cramped for space in their makeshift brooder. I used pallets for the floor and walls. Framed everything else. The window will be covered with 2 burlap bags when the temps or weather require them. However, I have an old 6-pane window that I'm restoring to hang in the frame during the winter and then prop open during the warmer part of the day. I'm also going to put up a small fence around the hen house so that they can soon enjoy the outdoors. Although I'm keeping them sequestered for another 4 weeks so that they get acclimated to their new home.
By the way, this is technically in my frontyard. My yard sits about 15 feet above street elevation and has no street access. So with the 4ft fence, there is no way to see it.
