I finally got the outside finished, well the painting anyway. We still need to close in the bottom to keep the dogs and any other critters from crawling under there. I was looking at putting that foam board insulation on the ceiling, the kind with the shiny foil on one side? Not sure if I am though, but it's hot in there even with a fan so any of your advise is greatly appreciated. I live in Texas, so winter isn't that cold most of the time. I still need to finish the storage side and run an electrical line for outlets to plug in the fan and maybe a heat lamp if I need it this winter. Also for a light inside.

Wow, that is gorgeous! I love how fresh the light blue looks with the white. Beautiful.

We have the same barn/coop. We used it as a shed for years and just converted it. I love the blue paint. Very nice.

My husband and I are thinking of insulating the barn/coop as well. It's always 10 degrees hotter inside there. Today it was 100 outside and 111 inside the coop. We saw the insulation you are talking about and wonder if it will help as well. I'll be watching this thread.

Here is a picture of our coop:

I was going to paint mine barn red like yours, but the neighbor across the street painted her shed that color, even though it's not barn looking, so I opted for beige and blue. (denim and khaki) It matched the roof best.

The foam board stuff seems to be easiest to install and least expensive. I ought to just go for it and try it out. I can always use it somewhere else around here

if it doesn't work.

Hey we have the same initials!
