I tried to put a pharmacy together too and didn't get it together before the chicks. So I have gotten things as needed. We have needed, in no particular order and as I remember it iodine and big syringes to squirt it, blue kote, neosporin, vitamin b complex tablets, the homeopathic for mareks, a few presciptions, electrolyte mix, some other herbs etc, that didn't help anything so don't get them!, pinless peepers, hot pick, OH! of course polyvisol without iron.
Most of this stuff is resulting from a dog attack, and a hen that we didn't know what was wrong with so we got stuff for everything. we also have epson salts for accidentally ingested poisons. Hydrogen peroxide for severe injuries (first wash) Man, I have bought a lot of stuff for these birds. Our neighbor, whose dog it was that attacked our flock, laughed and said he coudn't afford any fifty dollar chickens. (that is how much we spent on meds etc) FIFTY DOLLARS. Are you kidding me? Multiply that by 10 and maybe you're close. It is also good to have a saddle or two and maybe even a diaper (depending on how crazy you are). I have one just in case. They are not someting that you can pick up at
walmart when you need it. Many of these things I can't find around here so I wish I would have had them BEFORE I needed them. The roo that was attacked is not growing in his feathers and the others are pecking him, hence all this pecking stuff. I have ordered, but have not yet received, my order from eggcartons.com. They also had vetrx which I got, just in case, as I have never seen it around here.
Good luck, sounds like you're going to be a good chicken parent!
oh, DE although it is not really a medicine.
