I have BR and they are very friendly, never mean.

A peck at our legs once in a while. ANd follow us everywhere. THey become prettier as the molt and the dark brick red develops.

Just wanted to post that I got my home made plucker built... while I was at work... I'm so good. That's the best part about the all important step 1 I posted earlier...

He told me he tried it against a tree and stripped the bark off it... so it's at least sturdy enough. Maybe we'll commit quackicide this weekend.

You will have to let us know how they taste. I have always heard that duck is really greasy but maybe that is just the production ones? Not gonna raise any here though. I have been down the duck routine before many years ago and know how messy they can be even if they are adorable.

Yeah my yard is a muddy mess from them. They stink, and there's standing water in there from all the splashing = biting bugs!

They were a giant butt pain last winter, too, with frozen waterers, icicles, slippery run... Unfortunately I don't love them enough to do that again this winter (winter = approx 6 months of freezing temps here). I'll be probably keeping 2 for now (for my giant pumpkin project, I need their poo) and then those 2 will bite the dust later in Fall. More room for chickens, hahaha.

Hopefully they're good and not greasy, that would be tragic.

I did learn one new thing today that you would have thought I would have known already. When sticking your fingers in a horse's mouth to see if they have something stuck in there, be careful or you will get accidentally bit. Ouch that hurts!

Perfect!!! This bourbon red has more red in it than mine do at this age. Mine area a pinkish feathering all over.

My 2 BR are due today and tomorrow. I'm losing hope on these 2. But on a brighter note, I have EE, marans and bo eggs in lockdown too. Not sure the cause of their demise--only theories. Secretly hoping they will pip overnight!!!!!
