First Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatchathon- Join us! Set Day: Easter

THis is what I'm thinking too, including OUCH!! If the membrane is intact and the dent isn't too deep, give it a go. I have one similar, not quite as badly cracked.

I tried scotch tape on a egg for the Easter Hatcha thon, it developed, though I'm still waiting for it and others to hatch. With the tape it also developed a larger air cell than the others.

Oh, I am sorry about your finger. I hope you didn't break it, but sometimes sprains are worse.

Just a couple questions. I will try to make them yes or no for minimal typing.

1. Did you tape all around the egg?

2. Does wax stick to the tape?

3. Are you putting in an auto turner?

4. Are we ?

we've tried everything.. soap, mothballs, urine, candle scent, pinwheels.. even dogs.. (the deer have been caught playing in the dog's run more than once).. our deer have 0 fear of man.. they have walked right up to me (staying about 5 feet away max) and demanding sweet feed or to have the water pans rinsed and filled.. we have even caught them looking into the living room windows on a summer evening (guess they wanted to see what was on the TV). I was assured by the fine people at the feed store that a mix of blood meal and bone meal would deter them.. nope.. tried it and they weren't impressed

Wow! I am at a loss. I have been out building a new turkey coop and when that is done I still have a run for them to build. So I haven't tried to look anything up yet. I am still going to do some research on the matter for ya. I can't promise anything as it sounds you have tried just about everything except drop kicking them in the chest.

On the Easter Hatch along, many participants went will the flow of mailed eggs = set when they could as close to the set date as possible. Maybe OP will clarify.

What do you have for turkeys? And what are you getting??

we have one big doe that just stands there when we yell at her.. she bats her eyes.. wiggles her tail and stands there.. if you take a step towards her she will take one step back.. if you run at her she will back off.. then as soon as you turn your back she comes right back up behind you.. absolutely no fear of people at all.. she has even brought her babies around..
I know the drought we had last summer didn't help any.. we had on average 18 deer in our front yard any given evening. At least this spring has been pretty wet (for us).. so there's plenty out there for them to eat
