Well then you HAVE to hatch more so you have BUDDIES (right SCG?) and so you can all snuggle up together and keep warm in the winter. More bodies, more body heat. Just sayin'

I still have to explain the extra incubator to him before he gets home next weekend. I really don't think I am going to be able to clear out enough eggs to get it empty before the hatch.

Excuse #1: What extra bator? Oh this old thing? I've had it for years.
Excuse #2: This was part of a buy 2 power tools, get a free incubator special at TSC last week. Look, I got you a nail gun and a new saw and the incubator was only 5$ extra.
Excuse #3: I won it in a BYC contest.


He knows how many I have now and how many I am sending you and I know he can do simple math sooooooooooooo I will have to tell him about the extras.

Mine took it quite well when I told him some crazy lady on BYC was just going to send me eggs. Maybe that's how you got yours? You don't have to disclose that you instigated the deal and paid for it.

Even better, maybe I could sell him on a wild turkey tom getting in an mating with her.

That's why I live in a cold climate. So I can justify chicken math more. Especially if one has to MOVE to the chicken coop, you'll need birds to keep you warm.

I want to remind all of our participants that you ought to be looking for chicken eggs, as well, to set ONE WEEK after we set our turkeys.


All of the experienced Turkers have advised that it's much better for your poults to learn to eat and drink and whatnot from chicks that hatch at the same time.



Leave some room in your incubator and line up those eggs!!

Chicken eggs I have, I need to do a turkey dance! What can I do to get the hens laying!! I'm feeling desperate! I see the boys trying, and the girls lay around while the boys flaunt themselves AT ME! Get on the job boys! Maybe my hens are still too young or the weather too cold.

Whuuu?????? I only have double the amount of eggs incubating right now than he knows about. You don't think I can sell him on an idea such as the eggs multiplied in the bator (human eggs do it, it's how you get twins) so I had to buy the second bator "HATCHER" (must remember to call it that)

ANd I censor my comments so DH doesn't know what I am up to!!

I hear you--I need to be . . um . . . careful too. I already sleep on the couch . . . I hate when his phone rings in the middle of the night . . . .and I get up for the dogs. Go figure!
