I culled my half blind, spraddle legged, herniated, wry necked poult this morning.

I know it was for the best, but ugh.

Culling is always stressful for me--I pray for the animal and ME! My boys wanted to bury the chick--they are sweet boys.

Still nothing on my turkey eggs. THe two shipped eggs look like they quit, and my 2 BR look full. Yesterday I was glued to the incubator, today I will try a little distraction. Watched pot never boils theory!

Well, my first pipped poult didn't make it. It looks like the yolk may have broke and dried around its face, and closed the pip. I set Monday evening, so hopefully we'll see more pips. On the upside, 2 of the tutors are out, the third is pipped. One of our goats kidded yesterday, 2 more little doelings, and we bought a new Icelandic Sheepdog puppy we will pick up Memorial Day weekend.

Congratulations Wisher!!! Just what you wished for!

My hatch is over, 3 poults (2 RP & 1 MW) and 15 tutors. Those are going to be some well trained babies. Five teachers for every one student, it must be some kind of Montesorri school

I'll take photos later as they move out to the brooder. The last two turkeys are still sleeping off the rigors of being born.

But my hoarder room, ummm hatching room, ummm spare bedroom is starting to stink like hatching eggs debris. I've got to get those incubators cleaned out, you never know what might turn up and need heat.
