So i just finished my first chicken hat and got 4 out of 6... 1 other died while piping and the other died when his egg was crushed by a chick who had already hatched!

So now on to my coturnix.

I am going to be putting the eggs in tomorrow about 40 of them.

First of all, what should the humidity be at for days 1-14?

What should the humidity be for lock down days 15-18?

What do you feed newly hatched quail? Can they be fed chicken starter?

Any other general suggestions?

The eggs will be in an automatic turner. My incubator is a hovabator with fan.

I hatched my cortunix, buttons, and chicken eggs all at the same time. I just kept the humidity/temp the same as I would for hatching chickens. Of course, the cortunix hatched earlier than the chickens (day 16, I think it was) but, other than that, I kept everything the same. Hatched 15/15 cortunix. 9 out of 10 buttons hatched.
Just do what you would do for chickens, but stop turning around day 13 or 14.

edited to add: I fed them chick starter. They did fine. The only other advice... get a brooder with a screen top - they can jump high and they learn to fly rather quickly.
