Solved First avatar,

I have scrolled and scrolled and cant find an answer!
I go to avatar, BROWS, selct.....then 'nothing', no action no message NOTHING......we sit there and stare at each other, the screen and I.

Can somone tell me what size image, for starters, and then what may be the cause.

Go to your Account, click on Avatar, and choose option,,,,,, Upload an image from your picture files on your computer. I cant help you if you are on a smartphone. I don't use one for browsing BYC.
Whatever image you choose, the site will automatically resize it for best fit.
My Avatar is a pix of my feral cats sharing a meal with my Serama Chicken.

Been doing all this as you show me for two days!!!!
Frustrated, again came up to the study and turned on the desk top.
Read your post and went back to the smartphone, sitting in front of the computer...
BINGO! an avatar!

Clearly the smartphone needed a mentor

Then click this...

Then scroll until you see your avatar which is nothing right now except a rooster logo...

Then click this and select your picture...
