I've looked at Icelandic to hatch, are they pretty good layers besides being so pretty?? I really like them!

I took a close look at the chicks this morning. I didn't realize how ugly they'd get when they started growing in feathers

. They're really starting to test one another to see who's going to be in charge and it's pretty cool actually to see feathers starting to grow in. At first I thought they were getting dirty but when I looked closer I noticed it was feathers and not dirt coming in. They're pretty funny looking right now though.

. I miss the way they looked when they were a few days old!! Good thing I've got another batch due to hatch on the 4th, so I get my cute chickies again.

I'm going to mix two completely cros breed frizzle bantams and see what I get I weal post pictures of the two hope fully soon to be parents tomorrow and I'm also planing on mixing my Americana/bared rock roo with my buff orpington and see what I get again last time it was a roo that looked like an Americana that was wight with buff strips.

chicken boy, that sounds like so much fun. I wish I could be doing this kind of thing..can't have roos.
Ooo, I really like the sound of the Ameraucana/barred with the Buff O. Should be pretty babies.

How do you get frizzle?
That one roos comb reminds me of cauliflower! LOL

all of his sons had very similar combs.And to answer your question frizzle is a genetic mutation if you breed a frizzle and a frizzle most likely half the chicks will be normal and the other will be frizzle.
