first batch vs second batch-feed question

Hi all, I have a new batch of chicks, they are on medicated starter. My first batch was on non-medicated starter. I've noticed this batch has very, very!

stinky poos. I change their paper towels and bedding under it very often every day. But as soon as the first one poos (usually 1/2 a second after its changed) the whole brooder and surrounding area stinks. My first batch I didn't have this problem, it didn't smell nearly as bad. Is this caused by the medicated feed?

I used medicated start n grow with both my batches of chicks. I didn't notice any problems with smell (i think some is expected) but i can't compare to non medicated. Could it be difference in brand?

Hmmm, maybe, could be. The first were raised on TSC's starter/grower, these ones are on Agways chick starter. Whatever it is, the smell is much worse than last time. Pee whew.
