So I have made my first bator! I'm excited to start hatching within the next couple days. I don't know if it is safe though. I have a small-ish black rubbermaid but it didn't have a lid, so I put that inside a cardboard box with a small square hole cut out on the top and a 65 watt light over the hole to inside the bator. I have a little bowl and sponge with water and a thermometer. I don't know how accurate it is, but it seems to be maintaining a temp of about 100 or 102 F. Will my light catch the box on fire, since it will be on 24/7?

I would definitely be a little concerned about the cardboard catching fire. Maybe more than a little.

So if I put a sheet of glass or clear plastic over the square hole where the light bulb hangs over, would that be better?
