First breeding season question

I'm in the U.P. of MI and it gets cold but these birds can take it just fine as all 5 I have came from this area. The 6yr male just moved in one day and took over. He was so goofy acting following me everywhere I'm stuck with him. The females were born free range then caught n sold to me, so the male would stop chasing the wild turkey tail down the street which worked, and now the females are of age 2 yrs and should be mating when season starts, I'm not sure when, someone told me the birds will let me know by all the noise and at that point put them together. I would prefer to let nature take its course but not sure if some type of nesting boxes would be recommended or whats the best way and easiest people are doing and why? I have a 96 egg incubator a friend gave me but after reading into all the care and work required I'm not sure if being a mom for a clutch of who knows how many is something I can successfully do. My home is also a log cabin in the styks run off a wood stove and bout 5am gets dam cold some mornings and not sure how an automated 96 egg incubator will hold with fluctuating temps for some 30 days and a change in only one degree drop below 100 and all the eggs die and then theres a brooding chamber I'm reading about I would need also if I incubated and that's a whole other animal, but seems rather simple to make using a heating blanket. I would be interested in reading any comments and easy suggestions to raise and care for these birds that I have grown attached to, especially the male " Kevin" who adopted me as his pet, with his daily antics and games he likes to play on me in the summer days.

I let them make their own nest. Sometimes hens will be fussy on where they want their nest. So I just let them make their own nest.

Peacock fertility? I'm sorry if I'm repeating questions, but I've read back thru these threads and see conflicting answers. It has been a long time since I've had a juvenile male and no adult. As my male peacock died last summer(sad face), I am left with his 1 3/4 year old son- along with two mature hens. I did not think the males were fertile till 3 years old, but an English gentleman visited recently, saw my young male and said with great certainty that he would be fertile this summer. As I usually let my older hen raise her own young each year I need to know weather or not to let her sit on eggs or toss them. If I take the eggs, will she continue to lay? And, I'm afraid if I keep taking her eggs, she will eventually sneak away and hide her nest, which she has done in the past when things were not cool in the coop. (they free range in the summer, returning to the pen at night, and Lucy often chooses to nest in the coop). Answers or suggestions?

2 yr old IB roosters can breed with great results. Its usually a practice type deal, they contain the right equipment but, normally lack the mechanics. 2yr old IB hens will lay as well but, they have a better chance with a mature seasoned rooster over them. I would allow them to set the eggs and candle at day 10. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain,

As this is my first breeding season I am wondering if anyones peahens make a lot of noises while laying or do they do it quietly ? So far I got nothing but its still dropping to 10 degrees and slowly getting warm during the day up to 40s.
