First breeding season question

Can anyone describe if its normal for a pea hen to get weak when laying eggs or is it possible the egg is stuck inside her or broken inside her and she could possibly die if I dont do something?
That ... doesn't exist! ... it's a fantasy!

Im not sure what your talking about as far as a fantasy goes or if you mean a misconception ? A fantasy this is not ! One pea hen has now laid 2 eggs both have been destroyed and eaten and she is apparently very weak and still wobbeling around unable to keep a steady balance so something is happening and is this is normal or not Im guessing it is not !

That's not normal. If she's eating her eggs that's a sign of a nutritional deficiency or a parasite issue causing a lack of nutrients.

She just layed another egg a few minutes in front of me, Im trying to wait for it to harden then Im picking it up, its too soft so I covered it up with some hay and a bucket so the others cant get to it and alos locked up the two white shoulders for a bit to give her a rest from them terrorising her, I think I read somewhere to wait an hour before picking up eggs. Is there something reccomennded to feed them more to help with their eggs and health ? She laid an egg yesterday about 11 am and now today about 7:45pm , everything Ive read says she should not be laying so frequently either, or is this semi normal for them to lay another egg so soon?

If its a parasite she has, what should I give her and what could it be thats go ther so weak or could it also be the others were not letting her eat nor drink, Ive penned up the two white shoulders as they seem to beat her up non stop especialy since she started laying Ive noticed them treating her very bad

a 10 month pea hen cant lay eggs its not possible its not a pea hens

I must interject, please do not take this personal, this is from my personal observations, Although @labink's egg does not look like a traditional pea egg, I must disagree with you about a 10 month old peahen laying eggs, a 10 month old pea is considered a yearling or 2016 hatch and even though it sounds impossible, it happens more than many know. Now, what you might be thinking is a yearling pea egg is likely to be infertile and I will agree with that. I have yet to witness or see valid proof of a yearling pea egg hatching but, dont discredit Mother Nature, it happens and most of the time, its a dubious honor for a juvenile hen but very possible.

Its likely a nutrition issue or a young hen. Egg binding is a condition that is usually caused by, young hens, nutrition, and or climate change. A young hen or mature hen early in the season will sometimes look miserable and look like she is egg bound and it may take a day or two or a couple of perch bombs but, they usually always figure it out. Climate change can cause this condition ie... warm days and cold nights but most hens get past this after a few days. The big one is nutrition and @Birdrain92 mentioned this earlier, from my observations, conditioning is critical for a successful season and it starts in the fall as the birds are getting prepared for the upcoming season. Reproduction is taxing on both genders especially the hens, if the hen is not getting the proper nutrients, it can spell disaster for good viable, healthy eggs. If a hen is not getting enough calcium in her diet, she will rob her own system for the required calcium and usually a lack of calcium creates soft shelled eggs and its the soft shells that usually block/bind her system. The soft shelled egg will cause her issues but are usually passed and she will prepare for the next egg. Having said all of that, I suggest that you add calcium to her diet in the form of oyster shells or even discarded kitchen egg shells will work. Whew, long winded, I hope this helps you and please keep us posted,

No worries , no offense taken and your correct mother nature is possible of anything however very unlikely at 10 months that their reproductive organs have even advanced enough to produce a egg fertile or not , this is just one of mother natures natural defenses that safe guards the survival of most species, and the egg in question from the looks of it is more likely to be a goose egg or it is possible that his peacock has mated with his turkeys and thats what he got a cross between the two which makes a very beautiful turkey. This I would find more likey then the other however anything is possible.

Thank you for all the help ! Her egg she dropped is dented and still soft after almost two hrs so Im guessing its not going to hatch out regardless so not sure what to do with it cept throw it away I suppose....bummer ! This is her third egg now , two days in a row she dropped and she looks like a wreck and very weak ? You mentioned left over egg shells to feed them or is their a feed anyone is using to suggest, I will make a special trip to tractor supply to get it right away
