First chick just hatched!

A couple of other eggs have small cracks, but I haven't seen any progress or movement...... should I be worried? How long does it take a chick to break through it's shell after the initial crack? It hasn't pierced the shell yet, just cracked on the outside.

24 hours.

Should I just leave the early hatched chick inside with the other eggs that are about to hatch? You think it will be fine with the incubating temperature?
It's a personal preference. I choose to move them soon after hatch.

Curled toes at first, yes normal...food and water right away..its ok. I usually put water in right away, next day food. You could go ahead and put both in right away. What would it hurt? They will eat and drink when they feel up to it. Yes, dipping their beaks in the water is a great idea, especially if you haven't seen one drink. Once one starts, they will copy cat. :) 24 hrs after an egg is piped is a healthy time to wait...and not worry too much. I've had them go a couple of hrs longer until zipping..and do fine on their own. Congratulations on your new babies. Oh .. eggs going to a broody, that just went broody is chancy, but some have had luck with it. Mana hen may want to keep sitting for a while, and not take them out and about. My thoughts. :D

Congratulations Shamo darling. :jumpy
We want pictures pleaseeeeee!
Why thank you, my dear. I'm over-run with eggs! Just 1 of my female laid like 2 dozen or so eggs..... I think that is a lot for an Oriental Gamefowl! Soo far 6 of them have hatched and the others are staggered so we'll see how that goes.
