I have a girl with sour crop. I have the ACS powder but have not used it in quite a while for this. I found this post by TwoCrows from last year....Am I understanding this correctly that I don't have to dilute it further and can give this mixture as my girl's drinking water??

Get an empty 1 gallon jug, mix in 1/4 teaspoon of the copper, add 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar to cut the bitter taste. Use this mix for 7-10 days, she can drink nothing else. Sometimes you have to get the started on it, I drizzle a bit of it in the mouth so they aren't afraid to taste it. Pour a new bit from this jug daily. After she can go 2 or 3 days with an empty crop (and you can only check a crop for emptiness first thing in the morning,) then you can stop using it. Don't go past 10 days however. Use probiotics for 1 week daily after the treatment is done.

Acidified copper sulfate dosage is 1/4 tsp per gallon of water for 5-7 days. It usually does not need to be acidified further with vinegar, unless you use copper sulfate that is not acidified. Do not ever use just copper sulfate that is not acidified. What product do you have?

I like to add a bit of Apple Cider Vinegar to kill the bitter taste of the Copper. Even though it is acidified with Citric Acid, the taste can still turn them off. Vinegar can turn them off too, but more times than not, I've had to add the Apple Cider Vinegar to get them to drink the Copper mixture. So just keep this in mind. I use 3/4 to 1 Tablespoon of the vinegar per gallon of the mixture of water and Copper Sulfate.

Thanks. I did add some ACV to it. Just have to get her to drink it now.

Sometimes I will drizzle a tiny bit of the mixture in the side of their mouth with a medicine dropper, this can get them started drinking it, once they taste it and realize it's not poison or something. 😁
