First chick just hatched!

So..... when do I start introducing my chick to feed and water after they hatch?

It probably won't be into food or water until tommorow when it isn't wobbly. Congrats on the baby!

Thank you! I feel like such a proud papa. Anyway, do I move them over to the brooder after just 1 day? And is it normal for their feet to curl when they first come out of the shell? I'm assuming they will get their feet straighten out after a few hours?

I always dip their beaks in the water before putting them in the brooder.. not sure if its needed however i like to show them where it is before they plop down and learn how to stand up or walk

You move them over when they are dried and fluffy. They will straighten out and uncurl and uncrumple in a few hours.

I usually wait a day to take them out of the brooder, but dry and fluffy is good enough.

Momma hen just went broody..... should I take the rest of the eggs and put it in the incubator or just leave it to her and let her try to hatch them?

I would definitely leave the rest of the eggs with your broody. The less interference the bearer! Good luck with the rest of your hatch!
