First chick popped in the middle of the night

My first chick pipped in the middle of the night. This is the first time in a very long time that I have hatched chicks, I went in and checked and one pipped but I’ve seen no movement and heard no noises and it’s been a couple hours that I’ve checked up on it and still no movement. My humidity’s at 73% and my temps at 101.6 in my still air incubator, should i worry or is this normal?

I would worry (but just because I get to be a real worrywart at this pipping stage!) But... Since there seems to be no sound, movement, response or sign of life?

My most recent batch, I had one pip and there was already a lil wet chick out of the shell. The cheeping from the hatched chick got the pipping chick super excited and it was really pecking at first...then it rested. I fell asleep (mind you, this was happening at 2 am), regrettably, because I woke to the pip still where it was when I fell asleep.
Turns out, the little pipper got too excited as she was vigorously trying to get to its already-hatched sibling...I believe she expended too much energy. I pulled her egg out, tapped the egg: no response. Peeled away some egg...and sure enough, the little one died in the night.
Be careful, and keep the membrane moist, as the minute you remove it from the incubator, you're dropping humidity and risking shrink-wrap. Tap the egg...hope for response and If so, give it time. If there is no response...I would peel away and see (it might end up as an eggtopsy)

Others might tell you not to worry yet, our not to disturb it. And if there are other pips, you'll risk dropping their humidity too.
Yikes - good luck! This (pipping & hatching) is always such a high-anxiety time for me, every time I hatch eggs! Lol!

Yea I’m super stressed too I haven’t seen it move or heard it and I’ve heard that it’s supose to be moving and cheeping but I saw it made a little progress but since it’s been awhile I’m just worrying so much lol when I know I shouldn’t be

It all sounds normal. It can take 24 hours from pip to zip.

You will likely have a different chick hatch before this one does.

Relax. You will likely have a chick out tomorrow
