Ok, ya'll. Things are happening! This egg and one other have very large saddle sacs, they are in the normal spot plus over the entire length of the egg. Odds they'll hatch successfully?

This is also my first time using the NR360. I've been hatching button quail in an Amazon special that has worked splendidly but didn't hold enough.

These are blue salmon, splash salmon, and white faverolles. 10 eggs of 16 made it to lockdown. That doesn't seem too bad for shipped eggs?

Brooder is ready and the run is done. Still waiting on my coop. I ordered it from TSC 4 weeks ago and it's still in the origin facility.

9 of the 10 in lockdown hatched. That only ends up being about a 56% hatch rate (I was sent 16).

They are the most adorable, fluffiest, loudest little things! How do you all deal with the noise?

They shouldn’t be loud, if they seem fine and healthy, but just making noise, you can try to tent over and darken their heating pad area. Just make sure that it won’t be a fire hazard.

I am brooding two chicks currently, and I’ve tried to mimic a broody the best way I can, including making them a heated cave that’s nice and dark, just like how it would be under a broody. These have been the calmest, quietest chick I’ve ever handled.
