Hi All,

I'm Doug. My wife Cassie and I just got our first chicks...now the fun begins.

I do have a question about some pecking that one is doing that seems a bit malicious but I'll ask that in a different post.

I've read around for several months on Chickens but just now joined...

Thanks for creating this great portal for us all to share with each other.

-Doug

Thanks CT,

I'd already read a few of those but found some more helpful threads - that one on taking a week or two to reform a bully chick was particularly helpful.

Segregating my "bully" RIR chick from the rest of them at night. Just the second night so far so we'll have to see how it goes. No major injuries but did manage to just get to the blood drawing point with another chick before we caught the pecking. None of the others seem to be bothering the injured one...guess the injury is too small or they just don't care.

It's funny because the bully is the smallest one of the bunch. About the same age as 5 of the 8 (other 3 are a week or 2 older) but not growing as fast - that's why I was trying to figure out if there was something else wrong with it but so far seems normal - just a bit too aggressive.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes!
