First cocktail hand fed baby learning ahead of time

Try to have a variety of natural wood perches, just straight smooth perches aren't good for their feet.

So I should flip one so it can stand on the bark side ? Also then this perch stand should be good for her ? ( small one for portable reasons couch table so on) it has natural bumps not sharp, for now i have the two long smooth stick ones a thick natural stick one of java wood and the two cut in half ere one side is smooth the other natural bark, plan to add a ladder thats half way up cage and one or two rope perches

Knew this could happen but it seems the female she has picked out for me she wanta to hold her 2-3 more weeks more she said( yes the one I know is a girl picked out for you sometime they get stubborn on handfeeding and I will make sure she is fully weaned before I let them go home.) They keep doing thing everyone said to look for in a breeder, I want my baby healthy so I'm waiting, doesnt mean the wait isnt killing any less I'm waiting on pics of her now.

Best of luck! I know, the wait is torturous lol. For harness training, I would start a week or two after you bring her home. Just get her used to wearing it. I would put my birds in their harness then holding them close, bring them outside each time they wear it. That way they know that when they wear their harness it's 'outside time'. My breeder did clip my birds wings when I brought them home, and since they don't fly, I usually won't put a harness on them if I just step outside.

Wing trimming can be a rather touchy subject for most bird owners, but I find it best to keep the wings trimmed on my birds. I have cats and dogs around the house, so if my birds just suddenly decided to fly away, I'd be in big trouble. Wing trimming, in my experience, doesn't impede their lifestyle. My birds are perfectly happy climbing, swinging and exploring on a little playground I built into my wall for them. I also trim the wing on my quail & chickens to prevent them from hopping/flying too high. If you have the ability to allow the 'tiel the fly around, that would be best, although please be careful around door ways and such... it's so easy to lose a bird. Just thought I place that out there.

Yeah, you could. That perch looks nice, my budgie has something similar.
Sounds good, just make sure the baby doesn't chew the rope.

I see both sides to it but I dont plan to wing clip and omg yes it is torturous

Yeah, you could. That perch looks nice, my budgie has something similar.
Sounds good, just make sure the baby doesn't chew the rope.

I think I plan to keep rope out then since they love destroying things dont want to risk it

Just saw this vid on yt? Of two cockatiels one was on the look out the owner walks up knows what they are doing says go to one he flys off the shelf the other turns around and comes out from behind a wicker basket like I didnt do it sayd go that one flys he pulls the basket out giiiiant hole in the back trying to get to the bags of treats

Ok bit blurry but so worth it she is adorable and is almost ready!! Seems I get to have a little bit of a rarity she has two yellow stripes going down the back of her head (look at picture) and orange on her grey face all of which is just so beautiful ,which the breeder says means shes a light pied cuz of those stripes but the orange cheeks are nor am she said, secretly been eyeing the grey dirty face ones they are so cute and now I get one with orange cheeks and light pied stripping getting excited spoil the baby time soon

Ps. I felt bad so I asked if i owe her any extra for its morph, she said no its okay I'll make up the difference with the other babies since they had so many this year like 8 others weaning rn and more in the nest( the younger birds behind on breeding I guess since winter and summer are playing up idk)
